ECU cloning is a technical process where existing data is duplicated onto a replacement second hand ECU. The data transfer allows you to replace a broken/faulty ECU with a second hand ECU unit. This process avoids you paying expensive bills for a replacement unit from a dealership.

The ECU is the engine’s brain; generally, the car engine won’t turn over or start when the critical electronic connections stop functioning. Most dealerships only have the ability to program new ECU computers, and will not be able to repair one that has already been programmed.

We can transfer all data from a damaged ECU to a replacement ECU. Which is the most cost effective way.

This is for a programming / cloning service for EDC16 ECU’s

£39 is just an estimate prices vary.

Customer is to send me both the original ecu from the car and a replacement with the same part numbers.

I then transfer the immobiliser / programming data from the old ecu to the new one.

When the replacement is returned it will plug & play without any need of programming.

The data / immo transfer usually takes 24 hours.

This is a data transfer service for the Bosch (others makes & models can also be done)

Also note this will only cure your problem if it’s the original ECU that is at fault and the replacement ECU provided is working.

• If you have a faulty Electronic Control Unit (ECU) / Programmed component on your vehicle, for example it may be water damaged or with faulty component this is the correct service to use. Simply send us your original (Faulty) unit & the donor (Replacement) unit & will will transfer the data from your original to the replacement enabling the used unit to work on your vehicle with no further programming necessary. 
•  Once the donor unit has been programmed (Cloned) your vehicle will then start & run, the mileage display & the central locking etc will be unaffected & operate as it should.
• Please ensure that both your original (Faulty) unit & your replacement (Donor) unit have identical part numbers.
• Some ECUs have to be opened and soldered resulting in you possibly losing your warranty from whom you purchased the Unit from.
